Immediate Past President
Darryl Cohen,
NHDPod (SA), B.Sc.(Hons)

I began private practice as a podiatrist in 1994, in South Africa.

I was a member of the South African Podiatry Association and was involved in educating the public and other health professionals on podiatry.

In 1995 I headed up a research team to Northern Botswana to study the pedal effects of ectrodactyly.

In 1998 I was elected to the Executive Committee of the South African Podiatry Association. I have had the honour of presenting in 1996 & 1998 at the South African Sports Medicine Conference and The South African Podiatry Congress.

My experience includes both the prescription and manufacture of custom made orthotics, having run an orthotics laboratory from 1994-2002.

In 2003 I was elected to the board of directors of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists, and in 2004 was elected as Vice-President.

In 2005 I assumed the role of President and the challenges which come along with this position. My role as president involves working with a highly motivated and dedicated group of colleagues to try and advance chiropody in Ontario and ensure the chiropodist assumes their vital role in the health care structure in Ontario.
