Foot Health Month Begins — Week One: Show Us Your Clinic Door!

posted on May 5, 2026

We’re inviting all chiropodists and podiatrists across Ontario to share a photo of their clinic door on social media. Pair your photo with one of the Week One Clinic Door Facts below. These facts were selected to highlight prevention, access, mobility, and the system‑level value of podiatric care.

This coordinated message helps the public (and policymakers) see that every clinic door represents early access, reduced system strain, and better patient outcomes.

Week One: Clinic Door Facts (Choose Any)

1. Prevention & Limb Preservation

“Most foot complications that lead to amputation start as preventable problems — and early podiatric care reduces that risk by up to 85%.”

Suggested caption: Behind this door is prevention.

2. Workforce & Access

“Ontario has fewer than 840 chiropodists and podiatrists for 16 million people — making every clinic door an important point of access to essential podiatric care.”

Suggested caption: Every door matters.

3. Primary Care Relief

“Foot and ankle problems are among the most common musculoskeletal reasons people seek primary care — and podiatric clinicians can manage most of these concerns directly.”

Suggested caption: This door takes pressure off primary care.

4. Mobility & Aging

“Feet carry us 185,000 km in a lifetime — and untreated foot pain is strongly linked to reduced mobility, especially as people age.”

Suggested caption: This door keeps Ontario moving.

5. ER Diversion & System Sustainability

“Foot problems are a common reason for urgent care visits — yet most can be treated earlier and more effectively in podiatric clinics.”

Suggested caption: This door keeps people out of the ER.

Let’s show Ontario the impact of podiatric care — one clinic door at a time.
