Job Description / Duties

1. Provide a full range of chiropody services at Langs Main and North Dumfries locations to Clinical and Diabetes Education Program patients, providing thorough and timely foot care.
2. Perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counselling and other primary clinical foot care activities according to best practice standards of the College of Chiropody of Ontario (COCOO).
3. Properly clean and sterilize equipment according to COCOO and Public Health Ontario Standards.
4. Provide and fit functional orthotics for clients within limited resources.
5. Deliver a client-centered approach that incorporates treatment, illness prevention and health promotion.
6. Function independently, and act as a footcare expert resource to multi-disciplinary health providers, referral sources and community stakeholders.
7. Use electronic health records, patient charting and documentation, preferably PS Suite.
8. Work according to an agreed upon schedule, flexibility to include some evening hours, subject to the needs of the community and be flexible to change date of services if program needs change.
9. Provide foot care treatments to at least 2 patients each hour.
10. Have reliable transportation to other site appointments or sessions.

Additional Information

Langs is looking for a part-time contract Chiropodist (20 hours per week/0.5 FTE) for 24 months. Start date is immediate and weekly schedule is negotiable. Submissions must include a description of the contractor/company with background, experience and references. Salary: $40-$45 hourly
