Job Description / Duties

We are a small, but busy, friendly neighbourhood clinic seeking a dedicated, highly skilled Chiropodist to take on new and existing patients to assist our current Chiropodist’s busy schedule. You will provide a full range of exceptional foot care to our patients two days a week, with an opportunity to grow your own clientele. Services will include active treatment of acute conditions, surgical procedures, orthotics casting, SWIFT wart removal system, as well as preventative and palliative foot care. Ongoing emphasis will be placed on the promotion of foot health and maintenance by following the professional practice standards and regulations set out by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.

DUTIES:
•Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ foot disorders/dysfunctions and lower limb conditions through detailed examinations, medical histories and diagnostic tests
•Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
•Provide expert advice on foot health, footwear selection and proper foot care practices to prevent future complications
•Educate patients on proper foot hygiene, exercise, and preventive measures to promote overall foot health
•Prescribe medications within scope of license
•Administer appropriate treatments, such as trimming and shaping nails, removing calluses and corns, providing basic lower limb wound care as well as performing minor surgical procedures including injection of prescribed medication (as required)
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting assessments, treatments and progress in accordance with medical standards and regulations
•Ensure that all clinical equipment is in satisfactory operating condition and follow safe working practices
•Prepare, monitor and control supplies necessary for clinic operation
•Demonstrated flexibility and time management skills
•Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a high-pressure environment
•Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and pleasant attitude
•Available to work evenings and weekends, as necessary

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Graduate of an accredited institution of chiropody/podiatry
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Chiropodists
of Ontario
• Proof of professional liability insurance
• Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with electronic/computer software use (knowledge of Jane an asset)
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Provide resume, with references
• Previous experience preferred
• CPR certificate
