Job Description / Duties
In this role you will be expected to complete the following tasks:
• Provide comprehensive foot care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education, and counselling, within the full scope of Chiropody practice, as defined by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
• Manage foot disorders, including diabetic foot ulcers and foot manifestations of systemic medical conditions, with evidence-based treatment and client-centered care.
• Assess biomechanics and facilitate the fitting of custom orthotics and offloading devices.
• Promote health and prevent disease through client education and community-based interventions.
• Maintain best practices for cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of equipment and clinical spaces.
• Complete accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documentation, using Practice Solutions (PS).
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary diabetes care team, participating in team meetings and supporting holistic client care.
Qualifications / Required Skills
A successful candidate in this role has:
• Graduated from an accredited school of chiropody and licensed by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
• Good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario & holds professional liability insurance.
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in the field
• Knowledge of biomechanics, custom foot orthotics and foot care for clients within limits of resources
• Ability to successfully manage foot manifestations of systemic medical conditions
• Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably Practice Solutions (PS)
Additional Information
The successful candidate would be eligible for the following benefits:
• Salary range of $32.11 to $38.10 hourly
• 3 Weeks paid vacation, with an increase to 4 weeks after 1 year of employment
• 15 Sick/Personal Days per year, pro-rated to hours worked
• 10 Professional Development days per year, pro-rated to hours worked
• Enrolment in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
• Comprehensive Extended Health and Dental Care Plan including a $1000 Healthcare Spending Account.
