Job Description / Duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide expert podiatric care, diagnosis, and treatment to patients of all ages, addressing a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient assessments, medical history, and relevant diagnostic tests.
• Perform surgical and non-surgical procedures to address foot and ankle issues, including wound care, corrective procedures, and orthotics prescription.
• Educate patients about preventive foot care techniques, proper footwear, and lifestyle adjustments to improve overall foot health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with other medical professionals within the practice to ensure comprehensive patient care and multidisciplinary treatment approaches when necessary.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in podiatric medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into treatment methodologies.

Additional Responsibilities for Ownership Transition:
• Work closely with the current practice owner to understand the operational and administrative aspects of the practice.
• Participate in the strategic planning and development of the practice, contributing to its growth and success.
• Gain insights into financial management, marketing, and patient relationship management to prepare for practice ownership.
• Collaborate with the practice's administrative team to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient experiences.
• Build relationships with patients, referral sources, and the local community to enhance the practice's reputation and patient base.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Valid and current provincial license as a Chiropodist or Podiatrist.
• Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions.
• Strong surgical skills and experience in both surgical and non-surgical treatments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, staff, and colleagues.
• Detail-oriented approach to patient care and record-keeping.
• Dedication to staying current with developments in podiatric medicine.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to take on practice ownership responsibilities.
