Jaffer graduated from the Advanced Diploma program in Chiropody from the Michener Institute of Education at UHN, Toronto. An enthusiastic practitioner who applies his multiple skills sets combined with Chiropody, he strives to provide the highest level of care to patients within an ethical and evidence-based framework. Jaffer is a proud recipient of the Dr. Diana Michener Schatz Award 2020 for undertaking a career transition while achieving academic excellence, exemplifying innovative thinking in the chosen applied health profession, and contributing to the betterment of the Michener community.

Jaffer is a well-qualified foreign trained Ear Nose Throat Surgeon experienced working with the Ministry of Health of five countries and multiple careers in healthcare spanning thirty years. He earned both the bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, and the master’s degree in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery from the University of Mumbai. He is a Diplomate in Otolaryngology of the National Board of Medical Examinations, India, and a Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay in ENT. He also holds the Diploma in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has worked in a variety of healthcare systems and setups ranging from primary to tertiary hospitals at municipal, government, and private sectors, internationally.

In Canada, Jaffer integrated his medical career with information and healthcare technologies by earning the High Honors Diploma in Information Technologies Support Services from Sheridan College, and Certificate in Health Informatics from Ryerson University. He applied all his learning to simulation-based medical education as a Simulation Specialist at SickKids Hospital, Toronto where he was responsible for high-fidelity simulation sessions both in the lab and emergency room team-trainings and invented procedural task trainers.

Jaffer has experience working with patients with disabilities, wounds, trauma, surgery, infectious diseases, and derangements in foot biomechanics. With his background, he is committed to providing a holistic approach to his patients’ foot health by creative clinical methods and advancing healthcare processes with innovative thinking.
